To address BSH’s requirement, I conducted extensive research to identify cutting-edge solutions across various industries for controlling humidity in refrigerator drawers. This research explored technologies from sectors such as textile thermoregulation, moisture management fabrics, and smart vapor retarders. The outcome was a comprehensive overview of cross-industry technologies with the potential to revolutionize humidity control within refrigerators, extending the freshness of fruits and vegetables and reducing food waste.
Requirement
BSH aimed to extend the storage time of fruits and vegetables in refrigerator drawers by three times compared to normal fridges. The requirement included a humidity adjustment feature within the drawer to keep produce fresh and reduce food waste. Customers sought credible, reliable solutions with audial or visual proof of efficacy.
